BUILDINGS APPEAL

We hope to raise at least £400,000 towards

this ambitious project which will enrich the

community life of the area, and facilitate the

activities of the children and young people

who meet here regularly. Over £100,000 will

come from Tabernacl members through their

contributions and also through expert advice

and services provided in kind.

We will be relying on the generosity of the

various funding bodies which are used to

supporting plans of this nature, but

contributions from individuals will also b e

greatly appreciated.

you are a taxpayer, please sign the Gift Aid

declaration so that we can claim an additional

28p for every pound.

ariannu’r prosiect uchelgeisiol hwn er

mwyn cyfoethogi b ywyd cymunedol yr

ardal, a hwyluso gweithgareddau’r plant a’r

Y teimlad yw fod y cyfyngiadau presennol yn

llyffetheirio ein twf a’n gweledigaeth, a bydd

gwireddu’r prosiect hwn yn cynnig cyfleoedd

anturus nid yn unig i aelodau’r capel ond i’r

gymuned yn gyffredinol.

Nid oes ysgol nac eglwys blwyf ym mhentref

Efail Isaf, a bu cydweithio cyson rhwng y

Tabernacl a neuadd y pentref. Bydd

uwchraddio ac adnewyddu ein hadeiladau i

gwrdd â gofynio n deddfwriaethol ac i ateb

anghenion yr oes yn denu mudiadau o’r tu

allan i wneud rhagor o ddefnydd o’r

adnoddau.

Y bwriad felly yw ymestyn y festri’n

sylweddol drwy godi ystafelloedd

ychwanegol i wahanol weithgareddau, a

thrawsnewid y capel yn awditoriwm gyffrous

a fydd yn cynnig rhagor o hyblygrwydd wrth

addoli ar y Sul, ac ar yr un pryd yn creu

adnodd newydd i’r fro ar gyfer cyngherddau,

darlithoedd a chyfarfodydd eraill.

Bydd creu maes parcio newydd yn cynnig

hafan ddiogel i deuluoedd sy’n mynychu’r

capel a’r festri, gyda mynediad uniongyrchol

oddi ar y ffordd fawr.

Rhaid cael arian at hyn. Fodd bynnag, mae’r

Tabernacl yn esiampl o lwyddiant yn creu

sialens newydd.

The project is necessary to allow Tabernacl

to realise its vision and carry out its

activities more effectively. We envisage

that the developments will be beneficial not

only to the chapel members but to the

community at large.

There is no school or parish church in

Efail Isaf, and the village hall and

Tabernacl have always complemented

each other. Up grading the chapel’s

facilities, which includes ensuring that

legislative requirements are met, will

encourage outside organisations to make

use of the acco mmodation.

The project involves extending the vestry

considerably as well as building additional

rooms for various activities. The chapel

itself will be transformed into a modern

auditorium which will offer more flexibility

for Sunday worship and at the same time

Provide a new and attractive facility for

concerts, lectures and other cultural events

to serve the wider community.

A new car park will offer a safe haven for

families attending the chapel and the

vestry, with direct access off the main road.

All this requires funding. However,

Tabernacl exemplifies the success which

creates a new challenge.

Tabernacl, Efail Isaf is a lively, vibrant

chapel, with 200 adult members and over 100

children and young people. It is noteworthy

that young married couples represent the

bulk of the recent increases in membership.

We can boast a thriving Sunday School for

toddlers and young child ren, and the

popular evening session for teenagers -

Teulu Twm - undertakes a variety of

humanitarian activities.

Over the years, Tabernacl has made a sub-

stantial contribution to the cultural life of the

village and the buildings have been used for

community activities serving a wide area. The

chapel has been a home to various choirs,

musical groups, societies and evening classes.

It has also been the focal point for charity

work to serve the local community and

beyond.

In the wake of this new groundswell of

activities, it has become apparent that the

current buildings are too small and too

inadequate in terms o f the facilities they offer.

Several groups have been forced to move out,

and it is their wish as well as ours that they

will be able to return once we have

completed the building project.

ffyniannus, gyda 200 o aelodau o blith yr

oedolion, a dros 100 o blant a phobl ifanc.

Diddorol sylwi mai parau priod ifanc sy’n

gyfrifol am y cynnydd mwyaf yn yr aelodaeth

yn y blynyddoedd diweddar. Mae gennym

Ysgol Sul lewyrchus, ac mae Teulu Twm, y

sesiwn wythnosol ar gyfer y bobl ifanc, yn

enwog am ei waith dyngarol.

Gwnaeth y capel a’r festri gyfraniad sylweddol

i fywyd cymdeithasol ardal eang ers

blynyddoedd, a bu’n gartref i nifer o gorau a

phartïon lleol, gwahanol gymdeithasau, ysgol

feithrin a dosbarthiadau nos. Mae’r capel hefyd

yn ganolbwynt i lawer o waith elusennol yn

lleol ac ar lefel ehangach.

Yn sgîl y bwrlwm yn hanes y capel fe ddaeth

problemau, gan nad yw’r adeiladau presennol

yn ateb gofynion heddiw. G welwyd bod y festri

bellach yn rhy fach ac yn anaddas o ran y

cyfleusterau, a bu’n rhaid i nifer o sefydliadau

chwilio am gartref newydd. Eu gobaith hwy a

ninnau yw y byddant yn dychwelyd wedi inni

gwblhau’r prosiect presennol.
